Palestine – Young Man Defies Amputation Disability and Works in Pavestone Making

Despite Hussam Jarbou, a 29-year-old resident of Rafah, injury that led to amputation of his leg, that did not prevent him from completing his university education in the field of health administration. After graduating he couldn’t find a job opportunity that meets his major of study or commensurate with his disability, but Hussam did not give up or lose heart, and since he had experience in pavestone and brick making, he decided to launch a brickyard with simple tools that he uses to make pavestone tiles, used in paving streets and gardens and many other uses. Hussam could succeed in realizing his idea despite the difficulties he faced in this profession, such as the lack of molds due to the siege, in addition to the power outages, where he is forced to work at night sometimes to meet the demands of customers. Hussam does not hide his happiness as he was able to find a source of income for himself and some young people.
