Jordan – Muslim Council of Elders Conference to kick-off

The “Media People against Hatred” conference, organized by the Muslim Council of Elders in partnership with the Catholic Center for Studies in the Jordanian capital Amman, kicked off on Monday. During the conference, a member of the Muslim Council of Elders, Muhammad al-Momani, said that the most important challenges facing our nation, our religion, and human civilization today are the spread of hate speech, and moving away from the values of tolerance and peace, Al-Momani spoke about the magnitude of the challenge that the nation is facing as a result of the spread of hate speech, and the great responsibility of media professionals and everyone to stop this discourse, and to suggest the necessary policies and practices so that the inclusive and moderate discourse prevails. The conference continues over two days, with the participation of media professionals from various Arab countries.
