Iraq – Iraqi – Slovenian Agreement to Clear Mines and War Remnants
Iraqi Ministry of Environment has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Republic of Slovenia aiming to remove mines and explosive devices, which cover large areas of Iraqi territory as a result of wars during the past decades and the occupation of some areas and cities by ISIS. This memorandum with the Slovenian side is important since they have extensive experience in the field of demining in some cities in order to help in the reconstruction and in a gesture to return Iraqi displaced people to their areas of residence.
