Yemen – Iranian “Seashell” mines pose a threat to international shipping in the Red Sea
The first lieutenant in the Yemeni army’s naval formation of the Fifth Military Region, Emir Maarouf, stated that the Arab coalition in support of legitimacy in Yemen destroyed an Iranian-made seashell mine, which the Houthis planted in the south of the Red Sea. “Maarouf” pointed out that the Houthi militia utilizes a new method, which is the booby-trapped boats. It is mentioned that the Arab coalition, has destroyed 205 marine mines randomly planted by the Houthis in the Red Sea since the beginning of the war and the coalition considered the planting of marine mines with Iranian support as a threat for international shipping and world trade.
