Thailand- Police to ban protests against the military coup in Myanmar

Police have issued an order to stop protests against the military coup in Myanmar, organized by Burmese people in Bangkok claiming that it contributes to the spike of Covid among the protestors. However, Burmese and analysts doubted the reasons believing that it is for political reasons as the Thai government does not want more tension in its relations with Myanmar besides its concerns of being flooded by refugees on the long borders. It is noteworthy that Thailand relies on Myanmar’s natural gas for much of its power needs.
