The Syrian Network for Human Rights had stated in a report that mines have killed more than 2,600 civilians in Syria since 2011, including 598 children and 267 women, indicating that 33% of the causalities are from these two categories, concluding that Syria has been one of the poorest countries in the world in terms of mines laid since 2011, despite the international law prohibiting the use them.
