Iraq- A press center to organize the media coverage of the Pope’s visit to Iraq

The Iraqi government took a distinguished step by establishing a press center in Baghdad, to organize and manage local and foreign media persons and journalists while covering the Pope’s visit to the country. The spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the spokesperson for the Supreme Committee that organizes the visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis, Ahmed Al-Sahhaf stated that the ministry had received 500 requests from international and local media outlets to cover the Pope’s visit to Iraq, adding that the ministry had received 400 requests from 400 international media outlets, and more than 100 local ones, whereas the media certified reporters and photographers have been organized. It is noted that Today, Friday, Pope Francis has arrived in Baghdad for a four-day historic visit, and which is the first visit of the Vatican to Iraq. As the Pope got off his plane, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, was among his first receivers.
