Iraq: Claims to bring the marshes to the World Heritage List
Baghdad-Iraq – 30/6/2016
A seminar was held in the Kurdish culture center of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture on the annexation of the Iraqi marshes to the World Heritage List of the United Nations Organization for Education, Culture and Science “UNESCO”, where during which a film talking about these marshes was displayed, which would support the case through defining them.
To support the annexation of the Iraqi marshes to the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization “UNESCO”, a seminar was held in the Kurdish culture center of the Iraqi Ministry of Culture, where during which a film was displayed which talked about these marshes, which would support the case through the cinematic front by defining them.
Choosing the marshes as one of the world heritage areas is of many pros on Iraq, as it would put pressure on Western countries to increase the water quotas of Tigris and Euphrates rivers.
It is worth to mention that the marsh has four natural sites, which are a collection of environmentally unique swamps.
