Syria – Iranian militias pose their existence by occupying the houses in Deir Ez-Zor

Through its militias in Eastern Deir Ez-Zur, Iran seeks to occupy citizens’ houses as the governorates and Bukamal, in particular, are important to Iran for being the connection between the militias in Iraq and Syria. The Syria-Iraqi borders are strategically important to Tehran as it is the linking point with what’s called “The Shiite Crescent” from Iran to The Mediterranean Sea. The Iranian militias led by the Revolutionary Guards implemented an operation to occupy the houses of the citizens especially those in the big cities like Al-mayadeen and Bukamal.
