Turkey: As Drought Engulfs the Country, Turkish Worshippers Performed the Prayer for Rain (salat al-’istisqa’)

    Upon the request of the President of Religious Affairs of Turkey, Turkish Muslim worshippers in the Fatih Mosque performed the prayer for rain (salat al-’istisqa’) during Friday prayer, as rainfall lately has been receding. the President of Religious Affairs called upon all citizens to perform the prayer given the severity of the drought that engulfed the country. Upon his directions, the Friday sermon should address the issue ” water is the source of life and healing”. They called upon citizens across the country to rationalize water consumption and to limit water wastage especially after water levels dwindled in a lot of dams
