Iraq: Iran Cuts off the Water Supply leading to a Decline in Dukan Dam’s Water Levels.

Dukan Dam’s Administration in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, affirmed that the decrease in the dam’s water level- despite heavy rainfalls -is attributed to Iran’s decision to block off the major water supply. Director of the Dukan Dam, Jamal Cougar illustrated that water level declined at a rate of 1 cm. Experts have shed light on the repercussions of the water cut-off that will be most apparent during summer, especially if the rainfall wasn’t that heavy.
