Lebanon- Representatives of Different Factions Call upon Patriarch Al-Rahi To Resort to the International Community stop Iranian Intervention in Lebanon

Cardinal Patriarch Moran Mor Bechara Boutros al-Rahi received a delegation from different parties’ representatives in the Assembly of the Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops to reiterate his demands, illustrated in “Al-Rahi” saving initiative declared on the 5th of June 2020. He underscored the need to break the siege on political legitimacy, implement international resolutions, and ensure Lebanon’s “neutrality.” The delegation confirmed that Hezbollah enjoys unparallel leverage by possessing illegal arms. Backed by Iran, Hezbollah also violates the constitution while falsely claiming to apply regime reforms. Al-Rahi declared that Lebanon’s reality is disastrous given the fact that it failed to form a government after one year of floundering.  He clarified that not only domestic unrest is the reason for such inaction, but external agendas play a role. All these factors raise the question of: Will Lebanon fall apart after 100 years of being established?
