Iraq – Iran seeks to increase the volume of trade exchange with Iraq despite the expiry of the arms embargo.

Despite the expiry of the arms embargo imposed on Iran, as stipulated in the international resolution that approved the 2015 nuclear agreement between Iran and the “5 + 1” group, experts indicated that Iran will seek to continue its economic relations with Iraq because it does not depend on its imports on the issue. The purchase and sale of weapons depend largely on the Iraqi economy, and experts added that the next stage will witness an increase in the volume of trade exchange between Iraq and Iran, especially since Iran considers Iraq as its economic lung through which it breathes.
