Turkey has witnessed an unprecedented decline in water levels in Istanbul dams. Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality from its part called upon residents to conserve water resources. Experts pointed out that soaring temperatures, decreased precipitation, the rapidly rising population’s number, and the misuse of water resources, during the last two years, were all behind the drop in the water levels. Changes in the administration in Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality led to mismanagement of water storage issues, not to mention the effect of water-waste. Renovation and reparations of water pipes sometimes lead to cut-offs and water draining in the streets for no reason
