Iraq-World Health Organization office’s coordinator in Sulaymaniyah Says The high number of Covid-19 cases are due to Open Borders with Iran

World Health Organization office’s coordinator in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Najm al-Din Hassan confirmed that the reason behind the outbreak of COVID-19, the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, and the considerable death toll, especially in Penjwen district, is that the concerned areas are near the Iranian borders. Initial cases came from people who went through and out official and non- official borders. The statement was made during a COVID-19 awareness-raising campaign, launched by WHO in partnership with the Ministry of Health to educate people on measures to limit transmission of the Coronavirus.
