Iraq – A citizen devotes his life to removing border mines, despite cutting his feet in explosion

After suffering a landmine explosion, Hoshyar Ali, who lives in the town of Halabja in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, has been working for 33 years to dismantle and remove mines planted on the Iraq-Iran border, the areas of Jalawla, Kafri, Khanaqin and the disputed areas that were under the control of ISIS, With the aim of serving humanity and protecting the lives of those residing in these areas, Hoshyar removed more than two million landmines between the Iraqi-Iranian borders, and more than 3 thousand landmines planted by ISIS in various areas in Iraq during its control of these areas in 2014.
