Iraq – Residents fear returning to normal life after easing the curfew in Erbil

Social media reported the outbreak of the coronavirus dramatically among citizens in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which caused panic among citizens, especially professionals and low-income people who were affected by the total closure of the region and the interruption of economic activity there. Shopkeepers in Erbil expressed the fear of residents to return to normal life after the opening of economic institutions and facilities and easing the curfew restrictions imposed on the area, the owners of professions and shops pointed to the low turnout of citizens in markets and service centers in Erbil city, which has affected economically the movement and activity of markets, as well as the income of individuals, especially those with daily and limited wages.
