Jordan: Largest festival ever to mark Great Arab Revolt centennial in Amman

The Jordanian capital Amman witnessed today celebrations to mark the centenary of the Great Arab Revolt that was launched by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali in the tenth of June 1916. The ceremony was held in Raya Square in the Royal Court in Amman, and was attended by Jordan’s King Abdullah II and a large number of Jordanian officials.
Celebrations were held in the Jordanian capital Amman to mark the centenary of the Great Arab Revolt that was launched by Sharif Hussein Bin Ali in the tenth of June 1916, the celebration was held in Raya Square in the Royal Court in Amman and was attended by Jordan’s King Abdullah II and a large number of Jordanian officials.
A Thousand soldiers participated in the celebration which coincides with the anniversary of the death of Sharif Hussein bin Ali, the commander of the Great Arab Revolt, in a solemn ceremony in the presence of Queen Rania Al Abdullah, and Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II.
A constellation of knights surrounded the procession of the king on the way to Raya Square, while the artillery fired forty-two bullets to salute the centennial of the Great Arab Revolt and His Majesty the King of Jordan. Royal Air Force helicopters flew carrying the banner of the Great Arab Revolt and the flag of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in addition to the flag of the general leadership of the Jordanian armed forces – Arab army
Then the King Abdullah represented the line of the participating military units in the show of the flag, who lined led by the flags carriers.
