Syria- An increase in the cases of domestic violence against women during home quarantine

The Syrian Women’s Council held a press conference on Monday in Qamishli city in Hasaka province in northeastern Syria to highlight the increasing violence against women during the period of home quarantine imposed in various parts of the world as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Council called for forming a crisis cell in Syria to help women who were abused during the quarantine period and provide safe spaces for their reception, in addition to hot lines and media awareness campaigns.
