Mosaic art industry has become a distinctive and well-founded art as an old historic traditional craft in Tunisia, where it spread during the Roman era to the present day by fine artists who gathered stones with different colors from the foothills of the north-eastern part of the capital Tunis.

The artist Kamal Shaikhawi collects stones with different colors from the foothills of the north-east of the capital Tunis, to begin later the refinement and forming stage to cubed pieces no larger than a few centimeters.
Shaikhawi sorts these cubes in his own way, forming a harmonious colors painting, and what sets him apart from other mosaic artists that he uses mosaic in packaging pots that can be used in everyday life as well as paintings that reflect the authentic heritage of Tunisia.
It is noteworthy that mosaic industry is an art and craft based on small cubes in decorating floors and walls.
