Palestine – Fear of coronavirus infection among animals

The zoos closed their doors as a precaution in the Gaza Strip due to the outbreak of the new Coronavirus despite the absence of a government decision to do so, the owners of these parks attributed their decision to the confirmation of the infection of several animals with the virus all over the world transmitted through human, which provoked their concern about the possibility of transmission of infection to these animals from humans, and for their part veterinarians confirmed that the reports issued so far did not prove the possibility of animals transferring coronavirus  to humans, calling on the people of the Gaza Strip to comply with the instructions of the World Health Organization in dealing with their pets and stressing the adequacy of these measures, since the virus has not spread inside Gaza yet.
