Palestine- 9 thousand new housing units on lands of Jerusalem International Airport

The Israeli government intends to build more than 9,000 settlement units on an area of 1,200 dunums of Jerusalem International Airport (Qalandia) as part of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s settlement expansion policy to deal a fatal blow to the chances of a two-state and Israeli-Palestinian solution, this project was put in place in the early seventies and was frozen several times due to international political pressure rejecting settlement in the occupied territories in 1967 AD, It was revived by the Netanyahu government, despite its violation of international covenants prior to the Israeli elections, with the aim of driving a wedge in the heart of Palestinian urban continuity between Ramallah and East Jerusalem, in support of Netanyahu’s electoral program.
