Somalia – Water scarcity in Baidoa due to droughts and high population
Baidoa – Bay Province – South-West Somalia – Somalia 12/09/2019
Minister of Energy and Water in the South-West Region Administration Amin Ali Abdi attributed the water scarcity in Baidoa town to two main reasons: drought and lack of rainfall, as well as a high population rate due to the increasing exodus towards the city by residents of neighboring areas, pointing out that the ministry has two plans to solve the water problem, namely, drilling artesian wells to extract groundwater and building a rainwater dam to be used in times of drought.
