Somalia – Al-Shabaab penetrates security agencies and government tax collection departments

 At a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Mogadishu, the leader of the political opposition Party of Wadajir, Abdirahman Abdishakur, said al-Shabaab has penetrated the security services and tax collection departments of the Somali government, noting that the group controls Mogadishu’s international port, through taxing imported goods and collecting amounts ranging from $20 million to $30 million per month.
