Tunisia – Snap Presidential elections to be held after the death of Essebsi

The death of Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi has accelerated the date of the upcoming presidential elections to the next 15 September instead of 17th of November. According to the Independent Electoral Commission to prevent the violation of the Constitution of Tunisia, the constitution states that the Tunisian parliament president shall swear as interim president of the Republic for a period of 45 days or a maximum of 90 days.
