Somalia – Displaced people hope to return to Central Shabelle after the government forces’ victory over al-Shabaab

Fighting between Somali government forces and al-Shabaab in the central Shabelle region of southern Somalia has forced many Somali families to flee their homes and head to displacement camps on the outskirts of mogadishu, where they face difficult conditions due to the lack of humanitarian assistance. These displaced people are returning soon to their homes, especially after government forces have recently won several victories against al-Shabaab.
