Tunisia : Supreme Council of the Libyan tribes discuss security challenges

The Supreme Council of the Libyan tribes and cities held a meeting in the Tunisian capital Tunis titled “Tribal Council and its role in containing the crisis internally and regionally,” to talk about the security challenges faced by Libya and the role of tribes in resolving the crisis and facing terrorism and armed groups.

Under the supervision of the strategic, security and military studies center, the Supreme Council of Libyan tribes and cities held a meeting in the Tunisian capital Tunis entitled “Tribal Council and its role in containing the crisis internally and regionally,” to talk about the security challenges faced by Libya and the role of tribes in resolving the crisis and facing terrorism and armed groups, especially ISIS.

For his part, the general coordinator of the Libyan affair, Mr. Khalid Goel emphasized the pursuit of all Libyan society components of cities and tribes to fight terrorism and rebuild Libya away from political disputes in light of the readiness of the tribal people to join the Libyan army for the liberation of Libya and to ensure their security. Goel said that the Supreme Council of the tribes and the government of Libyan cities do not approve Siraj government, saying that Libyan society refuses to recognize a government that follows foreign guardianship.

On the importance of the role of tribes in resolving the crisis in Libya Mrs. Badra Qallol emphasized that the tribes would contribute effectively to the fight against terrorism and the disclosure of armed elements considering her knowledge with all parties and factions, in particular the armed parties, adding that the understanding and communication between the Libyan society components is the perfect weapon to overcome terrorism and ensure the stability of Libya and neighboring countries.
