Iraq – Sabaean Mandeans celebrate Golden Baptism day

The followers of the Sabean Mandean religion, on the banks of the Great Zab River west of Erbil city, northern Iraq, revived the Golden Baptism Day (in Aramaic, “dahfa ada dimana”) which marks the 20th of May each year, the day when the Prophet Yahya (Yehia Yahanah) was baptized, in their belief this is the holiest day of the year.
