Somalia – Special Forces continue to launch military campaigns against Al Shabaab Movement

The Somali Special Forces (SNAF) backed by African units, continue to launch military attacks against Al-Shabaab Movement fighters in miscellaneous areas in Lower Shabelle, south of Somalia, where they managed to banish Al-Shabaab movement fighters from multiple areas, including Zubaid, Anoula and Barireh. Observers see that recapturing these towns from the grip of Al-Shabaab movement puts the Somali army’s abilities to the test, especially as the army gets ready to take over the mission of maintaining the security and fighting Al-Shabaab Movement when the African peacekeeping forces withdraw from Somalia.
