Somalia – The decision to ban live coverage is angering journalists in Mogadishu

Somali journalists, who are working in local channels and radio stations in the capital Mogadishu, are suffering of constant harassment by the Somali Security Authorities, the most recent of which was a decision of prohibiting journalists from live covering the bombings that are taking place in the capital, which angered many journalists who stressed that this decision deprives them of their right to cover the events in their country, the National Union of Somali Journalists has called on the Security Authorities to guarantee the right of journalists in Somalia and to allow them to convey facts and news and stop all forms of harassment against them.
