Iraq: Announcement of a political entity led by Mosulian figures.
A new political entity have been announced in Erbil on Sunday under the name of “the people of Mosul gathering”, which includes different segments of the city of Mosul, including professors, engineers and officers, intellectuals, scientists and tribal leaders figures and elders from the city of Mosul in order to preserve the interests of the residents and following up with the work of the local government.
“Mosul people gathering is the new political formation of the Iraqi government, was declared in Eebil during a press conference, called to restore the situation of the city, which is controlled by ISIS ,to its earlier situation in all its aspects.
The formation with its members an leaders included various segments of society in Mosul, including professors, engineers and officers, intellectuals, scientists and tribal leaders figures and elders from the city of Mosul in order to preserve the interests of the inhabitants of the city and follow the work of the local government so the gathering would be a Mosulian power backed by the Iraqi government.
Head of Mosul people gatheeing Abdul-Karim al-Obeidi, in his turn, called for concerted efforts of all parties to achieve the desired objective to protect the city of Mosul, even if the Iraqi government was not able to do so, he also called on politicians to adopt a decentralized system, according to the Iraqi constitution to ensure the rights of the people of Mosul with its components and minorities.
According to Maen Abdul Qader Al Zakaria, the gathring focuses on the issue of liberating the country from ISIS and the return of displaced people to their homes and confirmed that there is a specific action plan to implement that.
