Palestine – Leaders opinions on US decision to drop “occupied” designation from Golan, West Bank and Gaza
Ramallah – Palestine 18/03/2019
A number of leaders expressed their distress on the US decision to drop the “occupied” designation from Golan, West Bank and Gaza because it violates the international humanitarian law, specifically the fourth Geneva convention 1949. It also violates the UN resolutions, specifically 242-338 and 497 in relation to occupied Syrian Golan. They stated that this decision is an indication of the continuous US administration’s hostile approach towards Palestinians, confirming that this decision will not change the fact that Palestinian land is occupied.
