Yemeni Information Minister, Muammar Al-Aryani demanded the release of all imprisoned journalists at the Houthis prisons, pointing out that the Yemeni government has offered several waivers in this matter, hoping to bring joy to the Yemenis’ hearts. Al-Aryani stated that the government arranged for prisoners exchange following directives by President Abd Rabo Mansour Hadi, even though these prisoners that the Houthis are holding are journalists, political activists and members of civil society organizations, while the legitimate government holds fighters that were caught during their fight against Yemeni people. This came during a press conference that the Information Minister held at the Yemeni Embassy in Amman, Jordan with detainees who were recently released by the Houthis. The released detainees recounted the acts of torture they were subjected to in the Houthi prisons, where some of them got electrocuted, beaten and stabbed with sharp tools. They added that there are many children and women among the prisoners, and that there were many who were shot dead by the Houthis in their prisons.
