Syria – Syrian Democratic Forces close in on ISIS in last stronghold in Baghouz of Deir Ez Zor

Baghouz – Eastern Deir Ez Zor – Syria 17/02/2019

The Syrian Democratic Forces were able to close in on ISIS members in Baghouz town east of Euphrates within a 700m radius. This area represents the last ISIS pocket in Deir Ez Zor. The fight has been temporarily halted because ISIS is using civilians as human shields as countermeasure against possibly being purged within a number of days according to military commanders.
