Hundreds of civilians fled Al-Baghuz town in Deir al-Zour’s eastern countryside, which is ISIS’s last stronghold in eastern Syria, and were able to reach the safe zones after the SDF opened a safe pathway in the desert to secure the civilians’ escape, after ISIS used them as human shields following its defeat in all the towns and villages east of the Euphrates. The head of the SDF media office, Mustafa Bali, confirmed that nearly 4 thousand civilians of different nationalities fled the town since last week. The forces follow specific procedures that include registering the names of the displaced and sorting foreigners, as well as offering the necessary assistance and providing health care to the sick and wounded.
