A fire broke out on Wednesday in Erbil’s Hersham IDP camp, where the flames completely devoured 14 shelters, however, no casualties were reported. After the firefighters and the camp administration were able to contain the blaze, the Barzani Charity Foundation (BCF) began a cleanup campaign to remove the waste caused by the fire, and replace the lost shelters with new ones in coordination with other humanitarian and charity organizations. The fire was started by an electrical fault in one of the caravans and it spread out to nearby caravans. Hersham camp of Ankawa in Erbil is home to 305 families and 1,500 displaced people from different parts of Iraq.
