Syria – ISIS uses mosques and buildings as headquarters for military purposes in Deir al-Zour countryside

Mosques and religious buildings were not excluded from the extremism of ISIS. In an act that contradicts what the organization has called for since its establishment, ISIS used mosques and civilians’ houses and schools as headquarters for military purposes and a place for them to hide in in several villages and towns of Deir al-Zour countryside, forcing the owners of these houses to evacuate their areas before their homes become rubble in need of rehabilitation and reconstruction.
