Yemen – Political analysts: Griffiths visit is a political maneuver to prolong war
San’aa and AlHudaydah – Yemen 24/11/2018
The UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffith, visited Sana’a to meet Houthis and other political parties’ leaders to discuss arrangements for new peace talks in Sweden. Griffith then went to Al-Hudaydah to the west of Yemen where he announced in a speech that he reached to an agreement with Houthis on conducting negotiations on a future role of the United Nations in the port of Al-Hudaydah since it is a main source of income for millions of Yemenis. But activists look at Griffith’s visit as a political maneuver to prolong the war in Yemen and to impose a situation most Yemenis don’t accept.
