Tunisia – Female activists denounce racial practices against women
Tunis – Tunisia 24/11/2018
To take a chance of Tunisian President Béji Kayed Sebsi efforts of monitoring Cabinet’s draft law submitted to parliament regarding equalizing inheritance shares between women and men since they are equal before all other Tunisian law articles, the Association of Democratic Women and other leading female figures from Al-Maghrib Al-Arabi countries held a press conference in Tunis to indicate the importance of establishing a law guaranteeing the economic rights of women. Many female participants condemned the racial practices that affect women in North African countries like family violence and unequal inheritance shares, and they decided to pursue their efforts until the draft laws of women rights become articles of the official laws of those countries.
