Palestine – Al-Zahar to Arab 24 : US sanctions against Iran are crimes in favor of Israel

Mahmoud al-Zahar, member of the Hamas leadership, said that the US sanctions on Iran serve as crimes against Iran for supporting the resistance forces led by the Israeli-occupied territories. These sanctions serve Israel by having Iran stripped away from its power, since Iran has tremendous influence in the region and has access to all the resistance means. As for the sanctions’ impact on the Gaza Strip, Al-Zahar stated that the sanctions on Iran will not affect the strip because of the blockade imposed on the sector by Israel and Arab countries. The spokesman for the Islamic Jihad Movement, Mus’ab Al-Barim, said that the US sanctions will increase the instability of the region, therefore allowing the US to intervene more in determining the region’s policies, adding that these sanctions will motivate Iran to defy the US colonial project in the region.
