Palestine – Female swimmers break barriers and train alongside males in Gaza

Around 15 girls have started taking swimming lessons in a mixed club, which is the first of its kind in the Gaza Strip, preparing to participate in local, Arab and international championship. Those in charge of the club stated that the girls, aged between 11 and 16, are the first group to join a male club despite the challenges they faced at first, adding that the club’s team, which females now account for 30 percent of it, is intensifying its collective training in preparation to participate in swimming tournaments and training camps inside and outside the sector.
