Iraq – Seminar on the role of civil society organizations in supporting the electricity sector

Civil society organizations in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity organized a seminar entitled “The role of civil society organizations in the maintenance of electricity and consumer support” in the presence of a number of specialists in the field of energy. The spokesperson of the Ministry of Electricity, Musab Almudares, pointed to the role of civil society organizations and the extent of the need for coordination between them and the Ministry of Electricity because these organizations play an important role in delivering the real message that the ministry wishes to communicate with citizens, as well as the characteristics of the civil society institutions because they have ramifications within the Iraqi society to help them get closer to the citizens, and the participants pointed to the role of the ministry as it strives to provide an integrated service which is satisfactory to citizens, in addition to the ability to build an integrated electricity system in terms of production, transport and distribution.
