Yemen – New UN envoy arrives in Sanaa

The new UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, arrived in Yemen on Saturday for his first visit to the country since taking office last month, replacing former envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed. Griffith is scheduled to meet with Houthi leaders in an effort to revive the political negotiations with the Yemeni government. It is noteworthy that Griffith had recently met the Yemeni President, Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi in the Saudi Arabian capital, Riyadh, alongside the Yemeni Vice President, Ali Mohsen Saleh, Prime Minister Ahmed Bin Daghar, and a number of other officials to discuss ways to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
