Syria: Archaeological sites are a witness to the destruction in Syria.

The archeological sites in Syria took its share of destruction in ISIS occupied regions and it has been excavated, destroyed and stolen, and some of the archaeological buildings in Syria have been destroyed as well. The monuments of Raqqa in general and Raqqa Museum in particular had a huge share of looting, theft and vandalism by the armed groups that occupied and controlled of the city including ISIS that destroyed the remains of history including Raqqa archaeological museum
