- Soundbite (Yousef Abu Al-Rish – Deputy Minister of Health):
“Prosthetic services were provided for amputees in need of lower limb prosthetic. Nowadays, there are high-tech upper limb prosthetics that enable amputees to live and work with ease. There are currently 55 cases on the waiting list for upper bionic limbs. Today 20 cases will be getting prosthetics.”
- Soundbite (Mohammad Abu Madi – Upper limb prosthetic beneficiary):
“I was injured as a child and my right hand was amputated, which put me through difficult times. However, when I went to Hamad hospital and got the prosthetic my condition improved. The bionic hand can carry 10 kg with a battery life of 2 years.”
- Soundbite (Fatima Al-Nemir – Project beneficiary):
“I tried a couple of prosthetic manufacturers but they only provided me with a cosmetic prosthetic. This is my first time getting a bionic limb and I’m quite hopeful. Losing a part of one’s body affects the person negatively but prosthetics make the situation easier.”
