Iraq – First dog shelter in Kurdistan, Sulaymaniyah
For the first for Iraq; Sulaymaniyah Governorate in Kurdistan begun the construction of the first shelter for stray dogs under official supervision, in cooperation with the governorate, the municipality, health, and police, as well as animal rights organizations. The project covers 5,000 square meters and homes more than 3,000 dogs, in a vast park, with houses specialized to taking care of dogs, as well as a fence to protect them.
