Amid high participation, the Arab Fencing Championship, held in Sulaymaniyah Governorate, kicked off two days ago. The championship, which will last until the 14th of this month, was marked with the participation of teams from Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine, Yemen, the Emirates, Kuwait, and Iraq. After 30 years of suspension, restoring the championship was deemed an unparallel accomplishment for the Iraqi union. The sponsors voiced their hopes that such an event will have its echo at the level of the AFC and the international community in order to launch more significant and broader tournaments in the future in Iraq
