Palestine- Despite Obsolete Beliefs, Girls in Gaza Insist On Playing Baseball
Against all odds and obsolete traditions that control the society in Gaza and prevent women from playing in sports clubs or in competing in championships, a group of women decided to defy such mentality and enjoy playing baseball. Among them is Wajad Al Zaanen, who lately joined a sports club in Beit Hanoun. She is known for her passion for baseball, not to mention that she is among the top winners in different local championships. Moreover, Wajad voiced her hope of ever forming a baseball team that would represent Palestine in Asian and International Olympiads
