The people of Erbil gather every year, in certain places such as the historic castle in the city center, to mark the birthday of the Prophet, in an atmosphere of love and harmony, and everyone’s wishes for peace to prevail in Iraq, and for all its people of all sects to be united. This year, thousands of celebrants gathered in the historic castle, carrying decorations, and loudspeakers to broadcast religious songs, while the celebrations in the city center coincided with other celebrations in its mosques, which began in the early morning with the singing of prophetic praises.
