Syria – Horses breeding reluctance in Manbij following a culture passed down through generations

Many people in Manbij, in northern Syria, refrain from breeding the purebred Arabian horses since there is a scarcity of fodder, medicines, and medical care for horses in the city after it was famous for horse breeding culture that the people of the area worked for, which they inherited it from their ancestors, and which they are currently continuing there for their love and passion for it. Amer Al-Madad, 63 years old, has been raising horses since he was seven years old. He inherited the profession from his father and is seeking to pass it down to his children. He is considered one of the old people who work in horse breeding, he owns a horse stable in which there are around 22 string of purebred Arabian horses, and he also has rare horses that he uses in races and in mating to produce horses. Manbij has about 250 strings of horses.
